The idea behind the project was simple: to make a bulky musical instrument such as a digital piano or keyboard easily transportable. And what’s more portable than a keyboard with only twelve keys, those that make up an octave? From this premise Ottavia was born…

Beneficiary of the “Support for creative and cultural startups” promoted by Lazio Innova, the company was established in 2018 as an Innovative Startup. In the first two years, the trademark and the patent were registered (also at an international level) and the prototype was created, presented at various trade fairs in the sector and beyond: MTV Digital Days 2016 in Venaria (TO), Soundmit 2019 Torino, Chieti Music Faire 2019, MEFF 2020 in Firenze and several editions of Rome MakerFaire, where the project was awarded with the Blue Ribbon in 2017 and 2018.
In the same period, more than € 20,000 was raised thanks to a crowfunding campaign on Kickstarter. More than 60 campaign supporters (including 10 international) were rewarded with more than 120 modules. Another 10 modules were sold with the “after campaign” of the Indiegogo platform.
